Basic invite makes ordering Holiday Cards and Romantic Holiday Inspired Wedding Invitations so simple! 🎄❤

As the holiday season comes upon us, I’m sure you (like me) have a huge to-do list forming. For some reason, every year my holiday card planning always gets lost in the mix and I end up being the person who runs out of time before sending them out to my family and friends. The hustle and bustle of everyday life coupled with Christmas parties, school activities, and shopping fill my schedule to the brim. And, even though it usually only takes an evening… I don’t get the cards written, let alone mailed out.

I have finally found a solution!

Basic Invite.

Basic Invite is a company that is dedicated to serving up perfect stationery! Whether it be holiday cards, wedding/party invitations, or birth announcements, their items are high quality and gorgeous!

For my Christmas Cards: I can choose a photo, decide on the caption and colors, and then have Basic Invite print them up for me!

Initially, you can play around and see what you like. Then, once you think you’ve got it, you can order a sample so you can check it out in person before comitting to numerous prints!

To show you, I ordered a few samples of Christmas Cards and other various card selections for myself.

Here are a couple Holiday possibilities:

Both of the samples I chose are Photo Christmas Cards. The card on the left has a beautiful shimmer look and the one on the right has a matte finish with raised rose gold foil.

Basic Invite is also perfect for all you love birds out there who are brave enough to have a Holiday wedding! (With the seasons time limitations and chaos, that’s just about enough to make my brain explode! Haha!!)

I got married in May before my Husband left for the Army. But, there’s no denying that a Christmastime wedding is a beautiful thing! ❤ The colors, the snow, the festivities, the feeling of Christmas in the air, mistletoe? Umm… yes, please! And, what is one of your top priorities in a wedding? Invitations! You’ve got to be sure to get the people there to celebrate!

The ease of getting wedding invitations out via this company is unbelieveable! (Not to mention the extras.)

First, they have over 900 Wedding Invitation Sets. You can find everything from save the dates to wedding invitations, enclosure cards, wedding menus, wedding programs, and even matching thank you’s!

Thanks Twillory! My kid will wear a dress shirt!

Hey you guyyyyssss!! Haha! I wanted to tell you about something new I found! If you are a Momma of boys, you know how hard it is to get them to dress up. Jace, my 7 year old, is ALWAYS in comfy athletic clothing. We couldn’t even get him to wear henleys because he said they were “scratchy”. 😱

Cue Twillory. I first spoke with the crew at Twillory about getting a shirt for my Husband. Their shirts are excellent quality and gorgeous patterns. One of the guys asked if I would, by chance, be interested in a new childrens dress shirt. He told me to watch a video on it and get back to him about it. (Video Link below)

Twillory Kids Shirt Video

Ok, so.. did you watch it!?! How freaking cool!?! I knew if there was any chance of Jace wearing a dress shirt, this was it. This shirt seriously has hockey sticks for collar tabs, pucks and a pocket to store them in. Not to mention that the shirt itself is made out of breathable athletic material. Ummm…. I’m sold. Time to talk to my kid about it.

I decided that instead of telling him about it, I’d just let him watch the video, too. His response was that we couldn’t get one soon enough. I placed the order and over the next few days I was asked repeatedly when his “cool” shirt was going to be here.

My guys shirts arrived and, although my Husbands fit great, my little guy’s did not (I ordered too small). I contacted the customer support at Twillory and they had another one (one size up) on the way before I could get theirs sent back out. Major cudos to the support team on that one! They were SUPER helpful!

So here it is!

He is so much in love that he wants to wear it to school. Mind blown. My kid wants to wear a button up dress shirt to school!

The “hockey stick” shirt tab idea is SO clever!

The shirts are made so nicely and look great on.

My handsome guys! ❤

Overall, I will call them a huge success!

Here are the links to each, if you’d like to check them out:

Boys Alley-oop Button Up

Men’s Trailblazer Performance Plaid

It was so exciting to find something nice, fun and different! Jace is brushing up on putting his shirt tabs in and taking them out. Perhaps that’ll come in handy later down the road!

When you get a chance, definitely go check out Twillory and all their great styles!

I wanna know… where do you go to get your guys clothes?!?

A Brand To Indulge With | Ethical Apothecary

About a month ago, I linked up with a brand called Ethical Apothecary. They are based out of the United Kingdom and work with products that are natural, organic, vegan and cruelty free. Combining these things with a spa like quality, their items are on trend and top notch. Ethical Apothecary was born out of a frustration that the founders, Mel and Sam, had trying to represent ethical beauty at its core. Both having over 40 years of experience in beauty/spa and retail fields, that’s exactly what they’ve done.

They offer everything from Skin-care for Mom and Baby, Hair-care, Interior goods, some Food items and products geared for Beauty Beyond Cancer. ❤

Of course, when they offered to send me a couple of their products to test out, I was thrilled!

For starters, their packaging is just beautiful. It has an earthy yet expensive feel to it. They sent me two items, one to use myself and one for the baby and I to both use.

I was gifted Pink O’Clock Prismologie Body Balm with Rose and Rose Quartz. Let me start by reiterating how gorgeous the packaging is for this product. The box looks like a mix between pink watercolors and a red smoke bomb (the kind you see used in artsy photography). I’ll be honest, I’ve never had a high end body balm product like this before. It comes pressed in a container. At first glance, I thought it was a powder because it comes with a puff applicator. On first try, I was extremely please to find a lovely creamy, velvety feel. The balm has the most beautiful rose smell. It’s very feminine and light, not fake or overpowering. Pink O’Clock is enriched with rose quartz for it’s comforting qualities. Passion Flower Seed Oil and Rosehip Seed Oil are filled with vitamins to soften and moisturize the skin. When you slide the puff across the balm you notice a gorgeous shimmer that translates over to your skin. This balm made me feel like I was pampering my skin. Which, in my case, is long over due. As you Momma’s know, we dont get much time for indulgences.

The product that was sent over for the baby is called Little Butterfly London Dewdrops At Dawn Body Lotion. It comes in a tall smooth bottle with tiny butterflies all over. It is an organic body lotion with a pump dispenser and is made to be gentle for baby’s delicate skin. A first try, I thought the lotion was odorless. But, once I was massaging it into Baby Z’s skin, I could smell tiny hints of citrus. This prompted me to check the ingredients. I found that it’s infused with mandarin and orange pure essential oils. It also includes cucumber seed oil, cocoa butter and oat kernel extract. I expected this lotion to be very thin because of the delicate look of the bottle. It was just the opposite! I’m guessing it’s the cocoa butter that gives it a thicker feeling. The first time I used it, I could’ve used WAY less! Zachary giggled as I rubbed and rubbed the lotion onto both of our skin trying to use it all up. It’s definitely “a little goes a long way” kind of product!

With both the balm and the lotion, they dry on our skin very nicely without leaving an oily feeling. They also leave behind lovely scents.

Getting just a taste of Ethical Apothecary’s luxuries left me curious and craving more. These items and this company are high quality and top notch. Get over to their website ASAP to check everything out! I know you will find many things you would like to try. This is a brand you can indulge with and have peace of mind while doing so.

Ethical Apothecary has been kind enough to provide a discount code, “BIANCA10”, for my followers to receive 10% off any of their brands. In addition, and not advertised on the website, they are offering a FREE full size boep nappy cream worth £10.25 when you purchase a boep product. Or, recieve a luxe travel size Elemental Herbology Vital Cleanse worth £12 when you purchase any Elemental Herbology product.

Have you heard of Ethical Apothecary yet? Have you tried their products? Leave me a comment! I’d love to hear about it!

Lovin’ your “Mom-bod” | Pink Blush Collab

Ok, so I’ll start by being honest. ❤ This blog was going to be about how you “find yourself” or “get back to being you” after having a baby. But, plans have changed since prepping for a photo shoot I had today.

The past few days have made me realize how self critical us women can be on ourselves when it comes to body image. Especially after giving birth! And, even though my Husband is super supportive, theres still a little voice in the back of my head that loathes my post partum body.

You see, it been almost 8 years since I had my first child. After his delivery, I rebounded like a champ. I think I was back to my normal weight 4 weeks after his birth. (Still confused as to what voodoo magic pulled that off.) This time around, not so much. I nursed, but I didn’t exercise as much and I’m way older! My first baby was born vaginally and this little guy came out via emergency c-section. Which leaves me wondering if my stomach will ever go back to the way it was.

Fast forward to this week, Pink Blush sent me this gorgeous dress in the photographs (Burgundy Pinstriped Smocked Dress) to showcase and all I could do was pick myself apart in it. I was thinking how much better it would look in the pictures if I was my pre-baby weight. I’m almost 30 pounds more than I was before I got pregnant (I was underweight) & 20 lbs more than my average weight. So, worried I wouldn’t get a decent shot, I headed to the mall.

My intentions were to find anything that would suck in the extra fat I’m carrying so I could look closer to my “normal” shape. I headed into a major name department store and grabbed 5 different slimming contraptions to try on. Positive I was going to rip one open, I was very careful and acrobatic (I mean, seriously! It was almost like busting a can of biscuits) getting in and out of them. Once finished, I decided on the one that helped the most. Funny though, even after cringing with the fear of breaking the size medium, I came out of the dressing room to check out the size small to see if I could somehow pull it off. *sigh* Keep dreaming, Bianca! 🙄

Off to check out! For some reason, I felt the need to tell the cashier that I’d finally reached the point in my life I needed one of these things. (Along with making the “dun-dun-dunnnn” sound effect for her.) She laughed, kindly and agreed that it sucked.

So today, I’m getting ready to go.. I do my hair and make up, and put on the spanx and the dress. Being fixed up and sucked in is helping a bit. In typical “me” fashion, I’m running around like a crazy lady because I’m late (as always). I fly out the door and head for the park (photo shoot location).

I find myself being so self critical while there. My photographer tells me that I need to cut myself some slack and states the obvious. I “just had a baby”. (Apparently, not so obvious to me!) He shows me some of the shots on the camera and they’ve turned out really well! This helps my paranoia immensely. Once I got home and checked out the final outcome I realized how much I was overreacting and overexhausing myself for nothing. I had to sit down and have a real heart-to-heart with the girl on the inside.

I guess my question is this.. How do we get over being SO self critical?

It’s not so easy to answer and there’s definitely not one simple solution. I’ve found that what helps me the most is remembering that God blessed me with the ability to bring a little human into this world. He gave me a baby who’s importance far succeeds any extra pounds I’d like to shed. And also, that I need to give myself time. I need to realize that it took a little longer to gain those pounds than the few short weeks I’m trying to drop them in.

My GOGO Baby Collab 🦉

Happy Thursday! Hope this day finds you well. If not, look on the bright side.. Its almost the weekend!

Sorry I’ve been a little MIA. I’ve been a super busy girl lately. This blogging adventure has been a wilder ride than I ever expected. In expanding my blog following, I’ve also been working on my Instagram reach. I didnt realize how much the two can go hand in hand. Over there, I’ve reached out to and had companies reach out to me about reviewing their products.

I was lucky enough to bump into a brand called My GOGO Baby. (www.instagram.com/mygogobaby) They sent me over a couple of their items, a diaper caddy and a milestone blanket. Both are owl themed. Oh my gosh, guys! So adorable! 💛

The diaper caddy is the cutest! Made of a thick felt like material, it has removable velcro inserts to make sections inside the bag. I assume the inserts could come out to have one large space but I much prefer the way the bag is laid out. The inner print is a beautiful chevron/arrow type design. The bag has a cute owl stamp on the lower right hand side and one of my favorite things is the precious owl keychain attached to the handle. He has little legs that hang!

This bag holds SO much!! I easily fit everything inside that I could possibly need for an outing with the baby.

I filled the back right section with diapers. The front right has swaddled and burp cloths

Under the baby food and toys on the left hand side, I’ve placed a blanket a bibs. And, the back left has a package of wipes! I didnt even use the pockets located on the sides. Only $22.00 (order below).

I wanted to post this overhead pic so you can see just how much I’ve fit inside!

I’m currently using this caddy on our nightstand as an organizer. Its working beautifully since our baby is still in a cosleeper in our room.

The other item My GOGO Baby sent over was a super plush milestone blanket. It was also owl themed with a gorgeous circular pattern to showcase your baby. It came with 2 ivy type rings to place on the week, month, or year of your baby’s age.

$23.00 Link at the bottom.

I took 4 month old pics with Zachary on it. He had so much fun practicing his new skill of rolling over! It quality of this blanket is super nice and I love the fall toned colors.

The blanket is actually quite large and my photo of the baby laying on it on his back doesnt do it justice!

(*I will add a full size photo*)

I have the items listed through my Amazon link below:

If you guys have any questions I’d be happy to answer them!

Big scare with little baby

Happy July!! What are you guys up to? This morning, before writing this I had a typical wrestling match with my 4 month old. He’s getting so strong and starting to figure out how his arms and legs work. Not to mention, heavy! He’s already 17 and a half pounds!

So sorry I’ve been MIA. Our little family had the scare of our lives Wednesday night. Baby Z decided, with his vocal alarm, that he was getting hungry. My Husband Zach (Big Z) ran upstairs to grab him a bottle while I changed his diaper. (We are currently communal living in our basement bc our air conditioning is out… but that’s a whole ‘nother story!) So, I’m changing the baby and the screaming stops, a couple coughs and he goes completely limp. My heart jumps through my throat. I roll him to his side patting his back thinking that he may be choking on some formula that’s decided to make it’s way back up. Nothing. I pick him up and begin semi-forcefully whacking him on the back. Still nothing. I turn him around and fishhook into his mouth/throat with my finger and he comes to.

**I learned at the hospital that the fishhook maneuver is a major no-no, for future reference**

My Husband comes running downstairs from what screaming he heard through the fans we have running. He finds me holding the baby with his diaper half attached. We gather up baby supplies as quickly as possible and head for the hospital. In the meantime, Baby Z has a frequent hiccup that sounds like hes trying to catch his breath and looks terribly zoned out. I’ve admitted before that if you look up the phrase “grace under pressure” you will most definitely never find a photo of me beside it. This event has turned me into wife-zilla and my husbands probably wondering who the heck he married and why he married her. My 7 year old is quiet and as helpful as possible. On the drive there, Jace (sweet 7 year old) keeps checking on the baby (he’s fallen asleep from the car ride) as I hold my hand on his chest to make sure hes breathing.

We arrive. Emergency room parking door is locked with a sign that says to buzz for security. We buzz. Nothing. (I’m losing what little s**t I have left) Hubby says we better go around to the main entrance, we start to walk as security answers our call and asks what we need. We’re inside.

We get to front desk. We’re informed we need to fill out slip to be seen and slide it through window. I do so. No one looks at slip because the nurses are busy with a lady who has cut her hand. (Momma-bear brain explodes as we wait. My Husband keeps giving me the “big eyes” so at least I’m not the only one about ready to kill someone.) Cut lady proceeds to have a conversation with the nurses after she has been fixed up and is on her way out. I begin pacing.

Nurse calls for us. They ask what happened. I explain. They take our babys heart rate, check his oxygen levels and temp. All are good. I’m a little relieved but still panicking inside that they are nowhere near as stressed about this situation as I feel they need to be. (To me, my baby quit breathing and they’re not too concerned.) They take us back to a pediatric emergency room. My Dad comes and picks up Jaceman so he doesn’t have to hang around the hospital all night. A little wait, but we are seen by numerous nurses, residents and doctors. All of which, want to know what happened. I give them my recount. They listen to his lungs, ask us more questions, do an xray. The doctors decide it would be best for him to be admitted.

(Great! We’re now spending the night…)

Around 4am they take us to our room in the pediatric section of the hospital. It’s a new addition to the hospital and is so nice. The nurses are all wonderful and dressed with cute children’s favs on their scrubs.. Well, all of them except the gentleman who has been sent to stab my child. Dramatic? Maybe. I learn that Baby Z has to have blood drawn before we can try to sleep for the night. My husband helps the bloodtaker while I go over all of our booking details with the “nice” nurse.

We spend the night. Well, we sleep for about 2 hours. During that time, around 17 people are in and out of the room. I get up around 5:15 to help the lady who’s attempting an EKG. She’s woken Zachary up and hes less than thrilled. (I second his emotions.) A little while later we are greeted by many Doctors. Another recount is requested. Lead doctor informs me that there are 2 possible diagnosis. Diagnosis 1, BRUE, is a not so uncommon occurance in children under one year old where they stop breathing and then resume breathing on their own with no real reason. Episodes last less than a minute. Doc believes that since the baby didnt turn blue, that diagnosis 2 is probably more likely. Breath holding is the other presumption. Apparently this occurs when a child is throwing a fit/gets upset and decides they are going to hold their breath until they pass out. The thing is, this is usually seen in children starting at the age of 6 months. Mine is only 4 months. Can he really be this stubborn already?? He’s usually the sweetest happiest baby on earth. I mean… so sweet that all the nurses and doctors wanted to steal him. He woke up smiling when they came in to examine him!

(Jace was thrilled there was a PS4 so he could play Minecraft while we waited!)

The doctors said that this is pretty much a thing that will pass. They said he looked great and that all of his test results looked great except for his EKG. We ended up stuck at the hospital until 5pm the next day not knowing why. They had told us around 8am that we should be getting discharged soon. Turns out, our little love had to have a second EKG for irregular results. The worst part is that his second reading came back the same way, irregular. He is showing having 4 inversions instead of the normal 3 that are seen in children. We are seeing a cardiologist on the 5th and are hopeful that it’s just from misplacement of sensors. If you dont mind, please pray that everything is ok. 🙏 The resident we spoke with said that the cardiologist told her the results would not be the reason for him going limp. I’m just hoping theres not something else going on that we were unaware of.

Hopefully this post can find someone who has had a similar experience or is going through the same thing. I’d love to connect & hear from you!!

Kidz Pride Collab: 5-In-1 Multi-use Cover

The awesome folks at Kidz Pride were kind enough to send me one of their gorgeous 5-In-1 Multi-Use Covers to test out. These beauties can be used as a nursing cover, car seat canopy, high chair or shopping cart cover and even an infinity scarf.

They currently have two options available; a blue floral print and a white dragonfly design. I opted for the dragonfly pattern.

The cover arrived in an adorable sealed package. (See first photo.) Upon opening, I was very impressed with the soft, stretchy (almost silky) material. The dragonfly design is just gorgeous and I’m thrilled with my choice.

The cover also came with a protective bag for storage/travel. This was a nice bonus.

I was a little worried that the fabric may be a tight fit with myself and the baby underneath for nursing. It stretched perfectly. Very comfy! Zachary didn’t fuss one bit when we were putting it on or taking it off.

#babymodel

The cover also fit beautifully on our infant car seat.

All smiles! (Drool bonus! Haha!!)

I give the Kidz Pride cover 5 stars. I can’t wait to use it as a shopping cart cover when the baby is sitting better on his own!

In my opinion, this product is a Mommy-Must-Have! It’s one of those things that grows with your baby. Even then, you can wear it yourself! What do you think?
