The Endless Wall Trail is located in the New River Gorge National Park, WV. It crosses through rich forest before zig zagging along the cliff's edge.
An approximate 2.4 mile moderate hike, the Endless Wall Trail provides beautiful river views. Proceed with caution while experiencing the trail close to the edge.
Choose one of two parking lots to begin the trail. Remember that if you complete the entire trail there will be a short walk back to your original lot.
Throughout the trail, you will encounter many tunnels of beautiful pink rhododendron, WV's state flower.
The Endless Wall Trail treks through Fern Creek with bridges over the waterway, rock stairways and stunning foilage.
Once you reach the middle of the trail, you begin tracing the cliff's edge and have multiple mountain views.
Views of the New River, almost 1000 feet below, are seen from numerous points along the trail.
Be on the lookout for rock climbers. You will see hooks drilled into the edge of the sandstone cliffs if you look closely.
Once you reach Diamond Point along the trail, you will have a stunning view of the New River.
The Endless Wall Trail is a must -see if you are in West Virginia near the New River Gorge National Park. In 2015 the trail was rated as the #1 National Park hiking trail, just beating out Cadillac Mountain at Acadia National Park. This trail is suitable for most hikers and can be hiked as a 1/2 trail or full.
