Kid’s Dinosaur Birthday Party Ideas

ROAR YOU’RE FOUR!! This weekend my baby boy turned four years old! (I’m secretly sobbing over here. Where does the time go??) To celebrate, we put together a party about his favorite animals! Dinosaurs! In this post i’ve included some kid’s dinosaur birthday party ideas!

I searched multiple places before deciding on what to get but eventually ending up ordering almost everything off of Amazon. A few small items were from our local Dollar Tree. I’ve linked everything I purchased at the bottom of the page!

Dinosaurs

Zachary has been obsessed with dinosaur for at least a year now. (Like most other kids his age.) I found a really great backdrop that was only $12 featuring multiple species. The box set I purchased came with many different balloons and I ordered an inflatable brachiosaurus! We also picked up many little plastic ones for decorating.

Dino Cake

For the cake, my Mother In Law had a local lady put together a marbled cake with plain green icing. Pinterest had a few stunning cakes online featuring faux plants and toy dino toppers. I tried my best to recreate those! I got the greenery and dinosaurs from the Dollar Tree!

Dinosaur Birthday Party Table Decor

Our little guy had been eyeing a neat set he saw online that included a steaming volcano, play mat, mini-dinosaurs and natural elements. I ended up getting it and using it as the table centerpiece. He was ecstatic when he saw the glowing red volcano that look like it was smoking! It was definitely a win-win, doubling as both decoration and gift.

Pin the tail on T-Rex game.

Games

I purchased a ‘Pin the Tail on T-Rex’ poster from Amazon to have as a small game for the kids to play. I will admit that I was a little disappointed that the tails weren’t stickers. They needed to be cut out and have tape added so they would stick. But, for $4.00 it was still pretty cute and the kiddos loved it regardless.

Just a couple of the balloons that came with our Amazon box set (linked).

Balloons

As I mentioned before, the box set I decided on came with balloons. But, what I didn’t tell you was how many.. I made a full garland and blew up multiple floating dinosaur balloons and still had about half left over! I had a couple pop on me but all-in-all the quality was great!

T-Rex plates came in a box set from Amazon (linked).

Dinosaur Birthday Party Box Set

I cannot stress enough how this set was worth the $32.00 I spent on it! It included two sizes of plates, cups, forks, spoons, knives, cute paper straws, napkins and a table cloth. It also had the balloons, string, goodie bags, a foil backdrop, stickers , a hand air pump, sticky dots and more!

Easy to make mini-watermelon dinosaur head.

Fun Food

Doesn’t everyone need a T-Rex watermelon head at their party?!? Haha! I used a miniature watermelon to make our fruit platter decoration and it was the perfect size! The kids thought it was the COOLEST! More ideas include Dinosaur Dirt Cup made with crushed cookies and chocolate or Dinosaur Eggs made out of Rice Krispy Treats.
